Marketing Copywriter

Summary

The Copywriter will write strategically engaging copy for use in a variety of marketing platforms, both digital and non-digital. Serving as a member of the Creative Team, the Copywriter will deliver upon business needs to support and drive overall company goals, vision and mission. The Copywriter will report to the Marketing Communications Manager.

Responsibility

• Develop all content for website(s), social media, and marketing campaigns.
• Proofread copy for spelling and grammar errors.
• Develop compelling original copy that aligns to current brand campaign and is tailored to individual marketing communications and target audiences.
• Provide content and copy ideas during brainstorm sessions with ability to write detailed copy based upon selected concepts.
• Work with internal/external partners & agencies to develop concepts and copy for projects based upon marketing platform and target audiences.
• Stays up to date on marketing/advertising trends and provides insights on how to apply to projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Communications, Journalism, or Advertising preferred.
• 5-7 years of copywriting experience at an in-house or external agency required.
• Proven ability to conceive, write and execute concepts that work in multiple mediums.
• Excellent verbal, written and proofreading skills.
• Prior experience working in a team environment.
• Must be energetic self-motivated, a quick learner and demonstrate a strong personal desire to achieve results.
• Capable of multi-tasking, in a fast-paced environment.
• Extremely detail oriented and resourceful, ability to work independently.
• Exceptional project management and time management skills, which includes the ability to prioritize project deadlines.
• Maintains a consistently high level of production and performance quality.
• Maintains professional communication with internal/external partners.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
• Ability to adapt writing style to marketing platform and target audience (digital, social, collateral, print ads, etc.).
