Communication, Development, Marketing, and Special Events

The Hemophilia Foundation of Greater Florida (HFGF) seeks a Spring 2018 intern whose focus is on Communication. Areas of sub-focus include Development/Fundraising, Marketing, and Special Event Planning. Candidate must be in his/her Junior or Senior year of a Bachelor’s degree or in pursuance of his/her Master’s Degree in a related field of study. We are looking for a self-starter with excellent computer skills, a desire to learn, and a passion for communication.

HFGF, a chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation, has been serving people with bleeding disorders since 1996. We are helping the bleeding disorders community improve their quality of life by offering programs and services to support healthier and more independent lives. Approximately 90% of fundraising dollars go back to the bleeding disorders community in Florida through financial emergency assistance, educational programming, legislative activities, a medically supervised camp, and scholarships.

Internship tasks may include, but are not limited to:
• Creating/scheduling eblasts for HFGF;
• Writing articles, press releases, and media alerts about upcoming HFGF events, patients, community, etc.;
• Acting as liaison between HFGF and event volunteers, participants, vendors, and/or sponsors;
• Updating HFGF website;
• Researching about bleeding disorders, other special events, etc.
• Taking photos for HFGF social media outlets;
• Entering information into HFGF databases;
• Assisting with special event logistics;
• Marketing special events; and
• Additional tasks, as needed.
